WP Recipe Maker
WordPress plugin that adds recipe cards with structured data, print buttons and jump-to-recipe links.
- Free plan or free to use
- Works in a web browser
This category is for people who publish recipes: food bloggers, recipe developers and cooks who share their own dishes online. The tools here handle the recipe card, the photos and the writing.
The recipe card is the part readers use most. WordPress plugins such as WP Recipe Maker and Tasty Recipes add a consistent card with ingredients, steps, times and servings, a print button and a jump-to-recipe link. They also output recipe structured data, the standard markup that search engines and recipe-saving apps read. That markup is also what lets your readers save your recipes into the keepers listed elsewhere on this site. It helps search engines understand the page, but it doesn't guarantee any particular placement in results.
Photos sell a recipe. Adobe Lightroom is widely used by food photographers for editing, with AI tools for masking parts of an image and reducing noise from low-light kitchen shots. Photoroom removes and replaces backgrounds quickly, which is handy for clean shots of a finished dish. Canva turns your photos into recipe pins, cards and social posts with templates.
For the writing, a checker such as Grammarly catches typos and clumsy sentences in both the post and the method. Method steps deserve special care: one ingredient missing from the list, or an oven temperature in the wrong unit, generates more reader email than anything else.

If you use AI to help write recipes or posts, test every recipe in your own kitchen before publishing. Readers trust a published recipe to work, and AI can produce quantities and times that read well but don't cook well. Be careful with AI-generated food photos too: a picture of a dish you didn't make can mislead readers about what they'll get.
Finally, think about accessibility. Alt text on photos, clear headings and a printable card make a recipe usable for more people, including readers using screen readers or cooking from a printout.
Keep a simple routine for each new recipe: cook it at least twice, write down weights as well as cups, photograph the steps that are hard to describe, and ask someone else to follow the written method before it goes live. Those habits catch most of the mistakes readers would otherwise find for you. It also helps to keep the recipe card short and put stories and tips in the post above it, so readers who only want to cook can find the method quickly.
It formats the recipe consistently, adds print and jump-to-recipe buttons and outputs recipe structured data that search engines and recipe apps can read.
