Food diary with a large food database, barcode scanning and recipe import for logging home-cooked meals.
MyFitnessPal is one of the best-known food diaries. You log what you eat by searching its large food database, and it adds up the calories and nutrients for the day.
For home cooks, the useful part is entering a recipe once, either by typing it or importing it from a recipe page, and then logging a serving of it whenever you eat it. Barcode scanning and other faster logging features are part of the app, and some sit in the paid tier.
Much of the food database is entered by users, so the same food can appear several times with different numbers. Pick entries with care, and treat the totals as estimates. For medical or dietary decisions, talk to a doctor or dietitian rather than relying on an app.
Not enough info yet on imports recipes from websites, builds a shopping list. Check the tool's own site.
